Q: What materials are used in Sitting Buck Vellies?

Our vellies are made from high-quality, locally sourced leathers that are a natural by-product of the meat industry. We source our leather from a reputable local supplier, who uses various tanning methods:

Tan Leather: This leather has a nubuck appearance with a pleasant, warm and soft feel. It can easily be treated with creams, waxes and oils to enhance its characteristics.
Brown Leather: This is an oily-distress leather with a pull-up effect, meaning it lightens in some areas as you work with it. It is pre-coated with a waterproof layer.

Sizing and Fit

Q: How do I choose the right size for my Vellies?

For the perfect fit, trace your foot on a piece of paper and measure from heel to toe. Since leather stretches and softens with each step, molding to the shape of your feet, we recommend ordering one size smaller than usual. This will ensure your vellies fit like a glove on all your journeys.

Q: Do you offer half sizes?

Currently, we offer full sizes only. Since Vellies stretch and soften over time, we recommend ordering one size smaller than usual to ensure a comfortable fit as the leather molds to your foot. For any special requests, please contact us at gear@sittingbuck.africa. We will always try to assist.
